Actually, it is more Development Mode than test but, what the hey.

Get Gadget enabled, here's how you do it:

  1. Read the disclaimer below and accept the truth of all consumer oriented computing  
  2. Read The Hey.Txt file for current instructions and notes
  3. Download the software from here (The User Name is Tester and the Password is...ACCEPT)  
  4. Virus Check it!  You can never tell about these things
  5. Unzip it
  6. Virus Check it!
  7. Run Setup
  8. Run the Program (Alpha_MEG)
  9. Accept the Non Disclosure Agreement from the MEG Startup Screen
  10. Get Authorized (the automated authorization system is also in test (development)  mode) email me for instructions
  11. Check out MEG
  12. Pay Attention to all the errors and report them to tlh@gadgetorium.com via the interactive help system in MEG 
  13. Keep Looking back here for new updates daily (I wish)

 

If you really read anybody's End User License Agreements, this is exactly what they say.  But not so honestly or so concisely.

 

Disclaimer:  This software was written using tools that are known to be unstable and bug ridden in an operating system that is about 1/2 to 3/4's baked.  Also, we have inadvertently added some instability and bugs ourselves.  So, we do not guarantee anything.  We have worked hard to make it perfect but, alas,  the responsibility rests on you for any damages incurred.  This includes everything!  While we don't expect any severe problems we cannot insure that none will occur.  Nothing bad has happened so far, save for a little frustration and time wasting.

By logging in and downloading the software, you accept ALL consequences.  Sorry, but that's life in the computer software world.  

Download the Alpha Test Version of MEG (If you have problems doing this, you probably shouldn't be)!

If you already downloaded and installed the full system since 10/5/00 at 10:30 pm, download the executable (400 KB, same user name and password) and copy the unzipped executable to \Program Files\Gadgetorium\MEG (assuming you accepted the defaults at setup).  It is a lot less time.  Otherwise, do the full download.

10/5/00.  I have assembled a bunch of Memory Templates, including some "Helper Objects" to get you a leg up on how this thing 

                        works.  Same user and Password as up there..
