Software Developed: Industrial Controls

  • Johnson Controls Metalink DDE-based interface in Visual Basic. This software greatly enhances many aspects of the operation of a very widely used industrial control system. It is installed in a number of large sites including Proctor and Gamble and one of the largest hospitals in the world, Northwest Methodist Hospital. It contains extensive database management functionality as well as an elaborate user interface.

Software Developed: The MEG System

  • This system was designed to eliminate the need for a person to do any database structure programming in order to save data in a computer. It has no predefined data structure. This construct allows for a completely configurable database system based on proprietary ideas and algorithms that I developed. It utilizes the Virtual Cortex (below).

Software Developed: The Virtual Cortex

  • This system is a standalone ActiveX component that handles all Database I/O without requiring any database structure manipulation by the programmer. It is a complete development environment.

Software Developed: Inventory Control

  • I designed and coded (in Visual FoxPro and MS Access) a system to control the inventory, purchasing and manufacturing processes for an Electronic Engineering firm.

Software Developed: Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

  • I have programmed extensive applications to automate purchasing processes via EDI (see below). I also participated as a panelist in a presentation about EDI at Comdex.

Software Developed: Bar Code Based Systems

  • I designed and implemented an automated system to handle inventory management for Decision System’s Maintenance Management System. This application was a "closed loop" in that it utilized both bar codes and EDI to order, receive and post inventory used to maintain production in manufacturing plants. It was installed and used at Arvin Automotive in Columbus, Indiana and Carlisle Rubber Company in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Software Developed: Machine Control via RS-232

  • I have designed and implemented a number of systems that control machines via RS-232. These include printer and terminal diagnostics, Bar Code Reader setup and diagnostics and telecommunications systems via modem.
