Welcome to The Gadgetorium, an artistic outlet that been around for nearly 20 years. This place has been the home of too many good things to count on all our fingers and toes. From Terry and Sherry's wedding to today, with all the parties and all the picking in between, The Gadgetorium has remained steadfast in it's belief in the creative side. They say that if only these walls could speak, what a story they would tell? I guess they are speaking now, telling their story through my fingers.
We built the physical Gadgetorium, a converted 2 car garage at Sherry and Terry's place, in 1996. When I say we, I mean Terry, Sherry, Wayne, Tim, Greg, Amy, Bob and a lot more I forget right now. We built the various "toria (plural of torium, hall of)" from a hollow shell. The Pick-atorium is where we play. The Percuss-atorium is where we banish the drummers. Amy Fishburn made us some labels for all those areas and we were off to the races. The Controlatorium has the recording gadgets (Gadgetorium, get it?). After a lot of sawing and drilling and general construction the physical Gadgetorium came into being. Then, lawyers, fees and legal stuff resulted in the legally recognized Gadgetorium, LLC.
During this time we were playing music and having fun. It was a wonderful time playing bars, open stages, at parties and getting together every Saturday night to just create Art. Later, we recorded bands and had parties while I, Gadgetarian 1, honed my recording skills, took care of Margaret and programmed some fairly sophisticated software that hasn't been fully recognized for it's genius just yet. We recorded a number of sessions by some really talented people. More on that as this site becomes more mature.
So much for ancient history. Today, we are redefining The Gadgetorium to provide you with some of the fruits of our efforts.
The Gadgetorium is only twenty and already a never was? Or could it be a just about is? Or a won't be long now? Or one of them "It took me 40 years of work to become an overnight sensations"? I certainly hope so. I need to figure out how to get an embedded media player control to work a little more than 1/4 assed using what they say will work.

Damn it.
This isn't working in Firefox and I really don't want to figure it out.
Apparently I am an angry old man. I guess I'm not alone. |
